Product Description

A colourless, low-odour, water-based, non-yellowing varnish ideal for timber & parquetry floors providing an outstanding impact and abrasion resistant finish. It is environmentally friendly, low odour and water based. Cetol TFF is abrasion resistant, NOT scratch proof. If building is under construction always
complete construction prior to coating as building dust, rocks, concrete chips etc., will lead to premature deterioration of the coating. If required, apply one coat of Cetol TFF during construction to provide some protection. Once
construction is complete, thoroughly clean the surface, sand out any marks and coat, as per instructions.

Application Description

Water-dilutable varnish for parquet and wooden floors indoors. Also suitable for doors, bars, furniture, kitchen bench tops and other interior woodwork that needs a hard protective coating. The product accents the natural character and colour of the wood. Application temperature: 10 – 30°C. Relative humidity: max. 85 %.
Application method: Good quality synthetic varnish brush or mohair roller. On large surfaces the product roller application is recommended.

System information

On correctly prepared bare wood- 3 coats of Cetol TFF.
Or two coats over one coat of Cetol HLSe or Cetol BLX-Pro wood stains after complete drying for 3 days and sanding with 220 grit sandpaper.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    To be applied by synthetic bristle brush or 8 — 10 mm mohair roller. On large surfaces the product has to be applied by roller.
    Bare woodwork:
    Sand down surface (180 grit), remove dust, fill small nail holes and cracks with a suitable wood filler, allow to dry, sand down and remove dust.
    First coat: Apply Cetol TFF, + 5 % diluted with water.
    Allow to dry for 4 hours (23°C / 50 % R.H.).
    Sand (220 – 240 grade) and remove dust.
    Second coat: Apply Cetol TFF.
    Allow to dry for 4 hours.
    Sand slightly (220 – 240 grade) and remove dust.
    Finish coat: Apply Cetol TFF.
    Remark: For stairs apply an additional coat of Cetol TFF. Provide adequate ventilation during application. Can be used as a topcoat over Cetol HLSe or BLX-Pro after 3-day drying and sanding with 220 grit sandpaper.
    Old varnish coats:
    Completely remove all traces of previous varnish then proceed as above. As required, wash with detergent and rinse well. Allow to thoroughly dry, lightly sand and apply a further coat(s) of Cetol TFF.
    Cetol TFF can be used to maintain existing floor varnishes.
    Ensure thoroughly cleaned then sand surface to a dull finish. Apply as described above.
  • 2. Cleaning
    Immediately clean with water after usage.
  • 3. Storing
    Store in accordance with local regulations. Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials (see Section 10) and food and drink. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabelled containers.Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. See Section 10 for incompatible materials before handling or use.
